Advent calendars just got the glow-up that cyclists have been waiting for β My top picks for 2026
It’s November, which means the holiday season is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about advent. I might be 36, but I still love an advent calendar and fully embrace the German heritage I married into; nowadays, it’s more about seeing my son’s face than my own daily anticipation, but it’s still a Christmas tradition I endorse.
For some cyclists, myself included, December can bring so much bad weather that it can get you down. Fortunately, the holiday season provides plenty of distraction, but a busy schedule requires a plan. With Black Friday and Thanksgiving weekend on the horizon, sorting your advent now allows you to tick it off the list early on.

Given how much the holidays can cost, we tend to keep advent special but affordable, with a range of sweets and chocolates, alongside the odd fun toy or Hot Wheels car. However, when advent calendars had a glow-up in recent years, I had to investigate.
I ended up down a bit of a rabbit hole and realised there are some really fun options out there, far beyond tiny chocolates and LEGO Mini Figures (Okay, I must confess, I do enjoy a LEGO advent calendar), but there is so much more out there now, including options for grown-ups.
I was surprised to find so many ideal options for cyclists too, including options from well-known brands like Wera Tools, Muc-Off, and My Protein. So, here it is: the culmination of an afternoon well spent (in my opinion) going down the rabbit hole in search of the best 2026 advent calendars for cyclists.

The advent calendar that started me down this rabbit hole. The Wera advent calendar includes 24 pieces, including a screwdriver, a high-torque bit set, a torch, and Allen keys. As it is Wera, anyone into tools will appreciate the quality and value.

Ruve.cc is a totally new brand, to me at least, and, alongside the Wera product above, why I went looking for cycling-friendly calendars in the first place. The PR landed in my inbox, and I thought it was a cracking idea and really the only ‘cycling-specific’ one I could actually find. It features a mix of cycling socks and nutrition, both of which will be handy come Festive 500 time.

I really like this idea from Muc-Off; it’s not a traditional advent calendar, but its mystery boxes sound fun. Available in Small, Medium, and Large, starting at just $30, you can treat yourself or a loved one to a heap of fresh cleaning gear and products without breaking the bank.

Lasting for the full 24 days of advent, the MyProtein advent calendar is sure to be a great option for those that don’t stop just because it’s Christmas. Also could be a great opportunity to introduce a loved one to a new brand of nutrition.

I’m both a dog owner and a coffee capsule drinker, so this is right up my street. Even better, a portion of the profits from this calendar goes to dog shelter charities.

I’m a big fan of Grind’s coffee. I use its pods a lot. In terms of value, they are some of the best pods around in my opinion. That said from time to time I’ll get a bag of their beans, and they’re always decent, too.

For us Brits, and for those who don’t drink coffee, there is, of course, the Fortnum & Mason tea and biscuits set, which looks excellent, and it’s for sharing, apparently. So, a win-win if you’re gifting it.

By far the most expensive on my list, it is also the most comprehensive; you get nearly a whole toolkit here. It’s likely not great for someone like me, who already has many standard DIY tools, but for a beginner its ideal, with many of the tools applicable for use on bicycles.
