Bradley Chubb explains his side of altercation with Alaric Jackson
Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson had his suspension reduced to one game on appeal Wednesday. He will be on unpaid leave Sunday when the Rams play the Cardinals.
Bills pass rusher Bradley Chubb, who took a punch from Jackson after the game Monday night, said he learned a valuable lesson from the incident.
“Me personally, I learned I’m either going to have my hands up or wear a helmet,” Chubb said, via Nick Suss of ESPN.
Chubb admitted he initiated the conversation between the two men after the Bills’ 37-34 overtime victory.
“I’ll tell you exactly what I said,” Chubb said at the practice facility on UC Irvine’s campus, where the Bills are practicing this week. “I’ve heard I was talking about his mom. That’s not true at all. I said, ‘We’re gonna see y’all’s ass again, and when we see you again, all that chipping ain’t gonna save you. That tight end and guard is not going to save you.’ He said, ‘What’d you say?’ I said, ‘That chip’s not gonna save you. The guard’s not gonna save you.’ And then boom.”
Chubb, who hasn’t heard from Jackson since the punch, said he was proud he didn’t retaliate and draw a suspension of his own.
If the teams play again this season, it will be in the Super Bowl back at SoFi Stadium in February.
