Cowboys downgrade LB Demarvion Overshown to out; Joey Porter Jr. makes trip to Green Bay
As expected, Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown will miss Sunday night’s game against the Packers at Lambeau Field.
On Saturday, the Cowboys announced that Overshown, who has a hamstring injury, did not make the trip to Green Bay.
Overshown hasn’t played since Week 1. He was listed as questionable; coach Brian Schottenheimer described Overshown as a “long shot” to play. (That would have made him doubtful, but teams don’t use that designation as often as they should.)
Also questionable was cornerback Joey Porter Jr., with an ankle injury. He was not downgraded to out, which means he traveled with the team.
Porter played only days after arriving in Dallas, but he missed what would have been his second game due to a sudden illness.
The Cowboys also elevated cornerback Derion Kendrick and safety Juanyeh Thomas from the practice squad. Kendrick becomes insurance, in the event Porter can’t play.
