Playoff Rankings Reaction: Alabama at #5? Ohio State & Notre Dame get dropped + Why it Matters

Fox Sports’ lead College Football analyst Joel Klatt reacts to the first CFP Rankings release of the season and he has questions. He disagrees with several of the Playoff Committee’s choices including their reasoning for dropping Ohio State down to #12. Klatt is stunned by Notre Dame falling all the way down to #11 and explains why the Irish’s path to the Playoff just got a whole lot tougher. He then breaks down the flaws with the decision to put 2-loss Alabama all the way up to #5 ahead of teams like Texas and a Tennessee team that just dominated them a few weeks ago yet find themselves 8 spots behind the Tide. He also discusses the Committee’s heavy emphasis on the SEC with 7 of the top 14 seeds and why we should not just accept that the first Rankings aren’t worth getting upset about because things will just work themselves out.
