Little League® Europe and Africa Region Director, Beata Kaszuba-Baker, Inducted into Arizona State University Athletics Hall of Fame
Before she became the first full-time female director of the Little League® Europe and Africa Region, Poland-native Beata Kaszuba-Baker attended Arizona State University (ASU), graduating as a three-time NCAA national champion swimmer and three-time All-American. To recognize her for her incredible collegiate athletic career, Kaszuba-Baker was inducted into the Sun Devil Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026 on Friday, October 9, and recognized on field during halftime of ASU’s football game against the University of Hawai’i on October 10.
One of the most decorated swimmers in Sun Devil history, Kaszuba-Baker set U.S. Open and NCAA records in two events and was named the NCAA Swimmer of the Year in 1995. The first female swimmer to break the one-minute barrier in the 100-year backstroke, her 1995 accomplishment ranks No. 7 on the Swimming World Magazine list of Top 11 Most Amazing Performances in Women’s Collegiate Swimming. From 1987-91, she was the Polish National Champion and record holder in breaststroke, and in 1992, she served as a member of the relay team across the English Channel, fastest in the world at that time.
“I’m so honored, and it’s hard to describe how I feel about this recognition,” said Kaszuba-Baker. “One thing that stands out to me is that I could do what I did because of the number of people who were involved in my swimming journey – coaches, teammates, administrators, ASU Athletics, sponsors. To be successful, you need to have a support network, and I had it always during my swimming years.”
Following graduation from Poznan, Poland’s Physical Education University (1992), Ms. Kaszuba-Baker obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management from Arizona State (1996), and a master’s degree in business administration from Poznan University of Economics and Business and Georgia State University (2000). She speaks Polish, English, and some Russian.
In her role today as the Europe and Africa Region Director, Kaszuba-Baker oversees the growth and development of nearly 750 teams and more than 11,000 players across approximately 30 countries throughout the region and serves as the Tournament Director for the Little League Baseball and Softball Europe and Africa Region Tournaments. Kaszuba-Baker has also played a major role in building relationships with several national baseball and softball federations across the region while developing the region’s qualifier tournaments to provide more teams, children, and countries the chance to enjoy the Little League experience.
